Re: Restoration of my ERA
I have been thinking about your fuel problem - I am not a mechanic so the following comments should be taken as well meaning NOT expert!! Your problem with flooding could still be caused by the float needle valve - the blow through using your lungs would confirm that the valve is stuck open but if i...

Re: ....and now....
Nice job on the floor pans - ouch! Lots of money spent! I have been wondering how you have managed to preserve the grey tweed on your car - given the starship mileage! Or perhaps you have figured out what the grey cloth actually is - I reckon it is probably Jaguar but I don't know which of the tweed...

Re: Front exhaust bracket
I asked Maniflow to supply a new one with the new 2" downpipe I purchased from them - suspecting that it might be a different size but it actually looks like the Minispares part here: http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Exhaust_and_manifold/Mountings/GEX7526.aspx? At the bottom of this Minispa...

Re: Pride of Longbridge Show
I have been to this show a couple of times and it really is worth a visit. A great variety of cars on display and many of the old Leyland/Rover workers come and share their stories. Last year was dry with Sunshine all day - this year turned out to be rain, Sleet and Snow!! As a result the park was c...

Re: ....and now....
I am sorry to read your poor experiences - but as we all know seems to be the norm these days rather than the exception. I am guessing the problem with your wheel bearing was that they did not tighten them correctly the first time - I doubt that repacking with grease would make the difference - but ...

Re: ....and now....
I know you have owned yours since new and as such will have a fair idea who has worked on your car. Most of us will have bought cars that are at least 15 years old and perhaps have been worked on by a number of garages some with mechanics too young to know how a Mini should be jacked up. A couple of...

Re: Saturn 5 ? No engine 5 as I approach the moon
I knew we would get you into the clean engine bay club eventually! Not sure about the anti-run on valve since the purpose is only to vent the manifold on switch off to prevent running on - that is why the bolt does such a good job because it is blocked permanently! I notice there are two holes where...
