Re: Petrol tank return

The inlet return pipe on the fuel tank fitted to the ERA enters the top of the tank at the inside front end, then turns at a right angle to traverses across the tank to the inside face, just down from the top, and ends almost touching the inside wall. This I assume is to prevent the returning fuel f...

Wiring Diagram of ERA Turbo Engine Ammended

Hi All Please note that I have just updated the wiring diagram, accessible from the Web page under the header tab ‘Technical’. Most changes have been made around the Starter Motor, but I have added the Alternator Plug and Ignition light for completeness, along with other minor additions.. My previou...

Re: Insurance

Chris and I have had the ERA insured with Lancaster Insurance Services, Classic Car Insurance, for a few years. You can add 'agreed value' to this policy by submitting photographs etc. and then, at least you know what you will get if written off. The whole policy can be tailored to what you can affo...

Re: Radiator Bracket

Hi All. Just found this very rough drawing of Radiator Top Bracket. I have been intending to tart it up for years but never got around to it. It was traced from original so if scaled on printer should be all ok to cut. bend positions are critical so note that first bend is 25mm from base of drawing ...

Re: Wiring to coil, oil, and others connections

Hi Arrian and All. Good work in finding a copy of AKM6353. I had searched without success. CAUTION: Please be very careful when interpreting these circuit diagrams. e.g. the first fold out (RM 2667) shows the wiring diagram for the 1988 Mini, which shows a resistive coil ballast lead coloured Pink/W...

Re: Wiring to coil, oil, and others connections

Hi all. Some of our cars seem to have some discrepancy from the original wiring, which after all this time, is not surprising! I drew out the diagram in Technical on this site and it is a simplified layout of the drawing from the original ERA wiring published by Rover in their "Mini Repair Manual" A...

Re: History Request from New Zealand

Dear Dean. R1007 is the first of the Pre-Production vehicles. It was first registered as G983TTM as a Demo vehicle and sold to a Mr Humphries. No specific date for sale is given. The handwritten register lists the colour as HNA Green for this car, which is unique, the remaining entries just stating ...

Re: History Request from New Zealand

Further to my question at the end of the previous message, re VIN number allocation, I found the answer at Page 3 of the Introduction to the Microfiche. This is copied Under 'Technical' on our Home page. It would seem on further reading that the serial number at the end of the VIN, which is the only...

Re: Steering?

Hi all As pointed out by Paul and in the ERA History on left of this page, these blocks were fitted to raise steering arm height to reduce bump steer. However, a word of WARNING: When we spoke to the former ERA engineer who supplied us with the Register and drawings, we were warned not to try and re...
