Re: History Request from New Zealand
I have to this point always believed that r1006 was the first production car. Whilst repairing the usual blown head gasket I discovered written on the extra water radiator " No 1 1006" It has a number of details which are different from the full production cars such as the direct mounted rear fog li...

Re: ERA ID plate 1138
To add to the debate! Mine being earlier than the Gaydon car R1010 (now Calne! Atwell Wilson Motor Museum) has exactly the same layout of badge with the type approval and serial number after "R" stamped into the plate. It looks like later cars had the type approval number etched onto the badge and o...

Re: R1067 for sale
I agree with all of the above, the market will decide how much a car is worth. I think the last 4 british spec ones that I know have sold were all under £9000. I somehow feel that the market is undervaluing ERA's because they see them as conversions rather than the "purity" of say a Mk3 Cooper S. Ir...

Re: Badge for sale in Italy
This is a strange one, because if you check the sellers feedback he has received positive comments from the purchaser, and in turn the purchaser appears to have left positive comments for seller.
Perhaps he has a a whole stock of badges or a production line!

Re: Restoration era 1097
I am really enjoying this thread with the detail you have included for the body restoration and the refurbishment of the individual parts. I am keen to see how you get on with the new dashboard too. The wire you are holding in your hand has the alternator plug on the end of it - which you have not f...

Re: Restoration R1028
Had you thought about keeping your original door cards (Just in case) and retrimming replacement doorcards in leather with perhaps some detail stitching and then using the new carpet at the bottoms. In the back seat against the newly trimmed companion box lids I think this would look great!

Re: Restoration R1028
Glad you and the site are back and once again accepting new members! I have been following your thread now for about 2 years and have found it fascinating - the rear seat looks great. What colour/type/quality carpet did you settle on and how closely does it match the original? Thanks for taking the ...
