I don't think you'll get the properly "formed" pipe from anywhere, but you should be able to get the correct diameter pipe from any reasonable motor factors and you'll just have to make it fit. I've done that with a few of mine.

Without checking thoroughly, it's probably something like an extra hole to attach the towing bracket. Years ago I had a new rear subby from a Rover dealer and at the same time they had ordered an ordinary one for another customer with a Mini 30. I've had a quick look at mine from the top and I'm sorry to say that it does seem to tie in with the wiring diagram on here. If you've got the dash out you should see 2 identical relays, one is the fuel pump the other is for the main beam. So if all your lights work ok, including the main beam, swap over the relays & try again. If the lights still work you can probably rule out a problem with the relay.

The coil issue is interesting as in the Rover workshop manual it shows the coil as GCL 143 which is available from Mini Spares, Somerford and Rimmer Bros and probably other places as well.
