Re: Aldon "Amethyst" Mappable Ignition System

I had a look at the documents on that site and I think it would be ideal for what you want. Having put efi in my Morris 1100, being able to tune with a laptop vs filing SU needles or playing with advance weights and springs is an absolute dream. You won't regret it!

Re: Restoration R1028

Looking good to me. Where do you think you'd mount the oxygen sensor in the exhaust? A good place might be near the gear linkage under the car as you don't really want the wide band oxygen sensors too close to the turbo. I've got an Innovate LC-1 wideband in my Morris 1100 which works great and the ...

It's great to see an era that gets driven a lot. My mini clubman's odometer had gone around 3.5 times before the body disintegrated...

Re: Restoration R1028

That should be a great motor. Will the Aldon distributor have the boost retard feature like the original turbo distributor? If not you could probably retrofit the turbo vacuum advance unit, or maybe use a megajolt (less original I know, but they work great!).

Re: Restoration era 1097

Nice, Looks like you're making good progress. I have a small request, would it be possible for you to take a couple of pictures of the rear of the original dash including the speedo housing as someone in Japan butchered mine and I'm having a go making a new one (fortunately I still have the gauges) ...

Re: Restoration era 1097

Looking really good. What are you going to do about the dash? Are you going to make a mirror image of the original?
