Yes i agree with both comments,you cant be too careful. I have had a quick look at my ID plate and it is very slightly different. The numbers are stamped a lot smaller. Eg R1234 the 1234 is stamped half that size. ERA logo is down a bit lower, parallel with the letter c on (car). Type. APP. No.16801...

I have tried to put a photo on a while ago but would not down load on to site, file too big.Gave up in the end, didn't forget about the post just had a bit of difficultly.

The DAM may possibly be the foundry identification number.
.The foundry normaly put there own part number for there reference and identification as well as the casting number.?

I have a original unused ERA castrol sticker. when i have time i will try and get some copies made up, they normally have a minimum order of £60 but will ask if they will do a few off
