Re: ERA Refusing to start??
Cheers Darren that sounds like good advice as to where to look - Paul has kindly voluntered to help so hopefully between us we should track down the problem. The only wiring diagram that I have been referring to is the one on this site under technical. I will have it going soon I can feel it in my b...

Re: ERA Refusing to start??
I was not convinced that I had got power getting to the pump as I did try to check it using a test lamp and probe with ignition switched on and no light was present.
Will ring in morning when I have had a break from Mini's.

Re: ERA Refusing to start??
Spent all day on it - horrible job. Eventually had to drain the fuel tank to avoid losing half a tank of petrol whilst trying to connect new pump whilst lying on back in the cold under car. Fitted new pump put a drop of petrol back into the tank and guess what - car turned over (until battery discha...

Re: Pride of Longbridge 2011
Yes I can confirm that it is a very nice, friendly show as we were there last year.
Unlikely to make it this year though as the car should be in for body refurb in April - that's if I can ever get it to start again......

Re: ERA Refusing to start??
Have disconnected fuel line on the carb side of the inline fuel filter under the bonnet and cranked the engine over and absolutely no sign of any fuel coming through so I am now convinced the problem is fuelling. The question is whether the pump has died or whether it is an electrical problem (wirin...

Re: ERA Refusing to start??
Replaced amplifier module this morning, checked spark by removing plug lead and getting sara to turn the engine over - all looks Ok so suspect it is not an electrical issue. Checked the in-line fuse for the fuel pump (think it is the black in line connector near the engine fuse box with a 15amp fuse...

Re: ERA Refusing to start??
Cheers guys for the helpful advice - I plan to have another crack at the weekend to see if I can coax it into life. I have no experience of fuelling problems so once I have ruled out electrics (only the coil left to check) I will need to get the Haynes manual out again and find the fuelling section ...

Re: ERA Refusing to start??
Thanks - given up for today due to rain and darkness - no light in my garage.
Just to rule them out, I have changed the dizzy cap and amplifier module but still no sign of life.
Will check for spark when I have someone to help next week - beginning to suspect it is fuel rather than ignition related.

ERA Refusing to start??
Help....Been trying to rouse the ERA from its Winter rest for the last couple of weeks and having no success. The car has been parked up in the garage pretty much since Castle Combe, it came out just once in October and was serviced September. Previously apart from the pathetic battery which goes fl...
