Re: Restoration R1028

I took the car to the body shop http://www.poollaneclassics.co.uk/ on Friday 24th June. Mark, my contact there thought it wouldn't cause them too much trouble to get back into pristine condition. The biggest problem I think is the body kit. The rubber seal is the stumbling block as the other thread ...

Re: Body kit rubber seal

I have a piece also. The closest yet I think. It just shows one has to persevere and not take, "no it cant be done" for an answer. I think the difficulty I have found is, that the suppliers I have contacted, and there have been a few, anything other than easy they don't want to know. Some very unhel...

Re: Body kit rubber seal

That makes George Culley with his £300 for 25 metre run look very good. With modern laser culling techniques I would have thought that cutting a die would be a simple exercise compared with the 1990s. If 40 metres would do 5 cars then £60 to £80 per car is high but if you got just the sport pack sea...

Re: Body kit rubber seal

You wouldn't think that such a simple style of moulding would be so difficult to locate. I have had a look at the COH Baines download and they list such a massive range but nothing really like the trim we need. COH Baines is probably the biggest range I have seen so far. Has anybody contacted them a...

Restoration 1028 (Cutting off roof)

Hi The first body shop I have got to give me a quote for the bodywork has said that they would be better taking the roof off and replacing it.I wasn't expecting that. My thoughts are that the least cutting out and replacing the better. After all there is no rot just panel damage. Has anybody got any...
