Water temperature sender VDO

I think I have found the right sender for the VDO water temperature gauge. Having contacted VDO they suggested 2 senders. One has a switch incorporated in it with 2 terminals. and another with one terminal. I went for that one. I suppose you could use the other to switch a fan if wanted. The one I got is 822-801/1/1/8 6-24v max 120 degree got it from Merlin motorsport. I sat on the drive, engine running now gauge sits just over 90 degrees and I can see the thermostat open as the gauge needle drops a little. Before it showed just above 80 all the time after warming up.
