Just back from the British Mini Showdown where we met up with a few of the other ERA guys which was nice.

Very busy at the show once the rain cleared so only did two runs (didn't want to blow the engine ahead of next weekend's trip to Blaise castle, Great Western Mini Show). Still posted a 17.1 sec quarter mile run though so pleased with that.

Not so pleased that good old Dave Hollis who runs the British Mini Club suggested my car was 'an ERA Lookalike' over the tannoy on my second run!

Hi Jeremy

Good to meet you on sunday.
Did you manage to find my car in the end?

I saw you leaving and we were only about 10 mins behind you from leaving.

Sorry about the Dave Hollis tannoy. He had seen me on the sat and thought it was me going down the strip.
I was on the grandstand with all the other ERA owners at the time waiting to see you go, and they were not impressed by Dave too.

Will have to give him my Reg so he doesnt do it again.

Managed to get home ok with no overheating, so the new head gasket must have done the trick.

Anyway, see you at the IMM .

All the best

Darren

Here are the pics of mine with the first trailer outing since its repairs & respray.

Had fun and games with the engine overheating on the way to the show on the Friday. There was no water in the rad when i checkes Sat.
Filled up and went into stratford but had lost most the water when i got back.
Did a head gasket change in 4 hours on Sun morning and had no heating issued on the way home so it did the trick.
