Re: Found my ERA (
Some update since I got the cars two months.
Vehicle inspection is finally due and changed some parts:
Cones, dampers, rear brake pad, rear drum with superfins, front brake discs and pad, rear suspension arm repair kit, front suspension bushings, output shaft oil seals, wheel bearings etc....
Rusty tank is kept and will deal with that later.
The rear wiper motor was stacked and did not operate. Now resumes normal.
Luckily located a brand new gear knob too.
Sharing some photos here.

Sharing the latest photo here. Finally get it on road.
Will drive it around for a while and to explore
if there is more problem with the car first.

Hi Arrian,
Definitely happy to have the registration document on hand.
There are still a lot of minor problems with the car.
Engine is good but water temp reaches 100 deg C. Need to figure out how to reduce it.
The front ride height was too low and the front body skirt is damaged. Sorted out the ride height today.
Some of the VDO gauges were not operating. Sorted out today.
The engine sometimes hard to start. Will need to check into the detail.
The fuel gauge glass is not clear and cannot see thru the fuel level at night.
Sometimes the dash red warning light is ON.
Carb Mini is new to me and it is really a whole new subject as compare to injection Minis

the Red light? the one with EXH on it between the two main guages, this is the exhaust overheat light, come on when the catalytic converter in the exhaust is too hot.
Generally this is mixture being wrong, check all vacuum pipe connections, as these are prone to cracking through being brittle especially on Japanese ones.
Then it might need a good tune up, but check all vacuum first and fuelling, also check the correct fuel pump is present, I had one with some kind of wacky after market pump which wasnt giving enough fuel pressure on boost, do the same thing.
